Established in 1993 as a collaborative effort between SMU and the Kaiser Permanente Northern California Region, SMU's CRNA program is designed for critical care RNs who are looking to advance their practice in anesthesia administration. The curriculum focuses on evidence-based practice, leadership, and health policy training, preparing graduates to meet the evolving needs of patients and healthcare systems. A significant part of the program is dedicated to simulated learning, which includes the use of high-fidelity human patient simulators, screen-based microsimulation, and hybrid simulation techniques.
Uplift Nurses Pursuing Advanced Anesthesia Training
Your gift goes directly to the CRNA Discretionary Fund, which helps to cover emergency costs for students in the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Program. These funds enable SMU students to focus more on their education and less on holding down a job or taking out student loans.
